1938 ELLIOTT SMALL MANTEL CLOCK TOTALLY ORIGINAL.

Here is a completely untouched and original 1938 Elliott small mantel clock. The dials slivering is worm which I think just adds to its character and the case has a couple of small dinks and paint splashed from many a year sitting in a mess or office. The bezel has a lovely patina and the brass key surround on the back door remains in place although the original lock, which is present is missing its key. A fantastic pre war example of this iconic clock.

  1. Andy, I have two RAF officers mess fusee mantelpiece clocks. Is it at all possible to trace the clocks history – whilst they were RAF property- from any of the serial numbers on the clocks? Rgds Tim

    • Hi Tim. Sadly there is no way to trace a clocks history. The serial numbers do not give a location or provenance etc sadly. There are merely a stores code the RAF has applied. Most clocks once they had been superseded by electric clocks in the 1950s were returned to storage and then sold off after the war. Best wishes. Andy
